APS PE Values – Positivitypositive-thoughts1

Positivity is defined as the practice of being or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude. In your PE lessons, you will work through a wide range of activities, some of which you will feel comfortable in and others that you will struggle with. Despite your enjoyment, grouping or ability range in that activity you need to think about whether you are you giving 100%. Are you being open minded? Are you showing attributes of a good sportsmanship? Are you being a good role model?

In your lessons, you will have an opportunity to take part in an activity passively and competitively. In both scenarios, this is your opportunity to demonstrate a range of skills to a high standard with the desired outcome to be successful, to score points, beat opponents and to win matches. However regardless of the outcome of the activity, drill, challenge or match did you remain positive? Did you show support to your team mates, respect to the opposing team and towards the umpire. Showing a willingness and compliance in all activities is what your teacher is looking for when we refer to Positivity.
