Drive is defined as an innate, biologically determined urge to attain a goal or satisfy a need. In PE you will be faced with many challenges during lessons, both big and small. It is your drive which will determine how successful you are at each challenge. There will be times when you are faced with a task that seems too difficult to achieve. Sometimes quitting may seem like the easiest option to take. But it is students who show drive and determination who will be most successful in the end.
You do not have to be the best athlete in your class to show drive. Drive can be portrayed in many different ways during PE. One student may have the desire to be the best in the class at every sport they do, and this is what drives them forward. Another student might have the drive to improve their cross country time, make the football team or jump higher in the high jump. It is important to set goals in PE/sports in order to improve. It is your drive which gets you to that goal. All that you teacher asks from you is that you give 100% during lessons and be the best that you can be.
Success is 1% talent, 99% drive and determination
