Congratulations to our Year 10 handball team who competed at the London youth games handball competition at the Copper box arena in the Olympic Park. The boys competed against 7 of the best teams in London and managed to finish in third place. They started off the competition with an excellent 6.1 win over Vyners school from Hillingdon, followed by a tightly contested 5.4 victory over Springwest Academy of Hounslow. The final group game was 5.2 defeat against a very strong St Aloysius team from Islington who went on to win the whole competition, however APS had done enough to reach the semi-finals. The Semi-final was a very evenly contested game but unfortantely the boy’s lost 2.0 to Carshalton sports college of Sutton. This was the first year that the students have played handball and it is an exceptional achievement for them to reach such a level.
