Raising money for the ‘London Youth Games Foundation’

Belle who taught at Alexandra Park School from 2000 – 2008 & was Haringey’s London Youth Games team manager from 2004-2008, completed the race in just over 4 and a half hours. Not bad when you consider this was the hottest London Marathon on record.

Belle says…

“Thank you to all those who sponsored me, together we managed to raise more than £2000”.

See below the thank you letter from the London Youth Games CEO Jonathon Hughes.

The London Youth Games Foundation was created to provide high quality sporting competitions for young Londoners and over one million young people have competed in the Games to date.

Over 100 APS athletes have competed in the LYG’s already this year, with more to follow in the summer term. They have also had the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of some of Great Britain’s greatest athletes including Mo Farah, Bradley Wiggins, Dina Asher-Smith and Rio Ferdinand. As well as APS’ own Azania Stewart who represented Team Haringey at basketball and recently won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games.

APS students have successfully featured in many LYG’s Level 3 competitions already this year-
