‘AN EGGCELLENT RESULT…JUST BEFORE THE EASTER BREAK!!!’

Round 5 of the PS Cup saw APS Year 7 Girls football team, back at New River Sports Centre. A win would help them to progress through to the last 8 of the National Schools Cup. Poor weather continued to make Durnsford Park unplayable. Typically, as we arrived it was pouring with rain. After some vigorous warming up and a pep talk, the girls were ready to play our opponents who had travelled for more than two hours from Brighton to play the match.APS were quick to dominate with many chances on goal. Powerful shooting from Alena; Mia and Justine put us ahead. This combined with another solid defensive display, saw Chloe; Scarlett and Elsie frustrating the opposing team’s attackers, who had up until now been free scoring in their previous cup draws.

footbALL THROW

Our opponents nominated Mia, as a well deserved Player of the Match and a convincing 3-0 victory put APS into the cup quarter finals against opponents from Bristol!
