APS Sports Leaders Excel at Haringey Primary School Tri Golf Festival 2018

Alexandra Park School Sports Council with students from Year 7 to 10 officiated at the competition and supported the younger golfers in the six challenges that they faced as they progressed around the skills carousel. Some of the APS sports leaders had participated in the competition themselves whilst at Primary School and put their experience and knowledge to good use as coaches and officials.

The standard was very high and the eventual winners Rhodes Avenue Primary School set a new all time high score, breaking the thousand points mark for only the second time in Haringey Tri Golf.

Haringey School Games Organisers wrote to Mr McKenzie to praise the fantastic contribution made by APS sports leaders…

Dear Mr Mckenzie

The Alexandra Park School volunteers delivered an excellent Tri-Golf competition at The Pavilion Sports Centre on Friday 18th May 2018. Six Haringey Primary School Golf Teams took part in the festival that was extremely well organised, delivered and received. The Students had clearly spent a great deal of time pre-planning before the event having attended a Tri Golf Activator Workshop delivered by Mr Amooty. The instruction to golfers and recording of results was clear and organisation on the day was excellent.

On the day all equipment was set out well in advance of schools arriving with due regard for health & safety. The events were clearly explained, well run and thoroughly enjoyed by all the schools. Results were prompt and the presentation was well run.

A very slick and professional job by a fine team of students. The event has resulted in Rhodes Avenue Primary School becoming the Haringey representative for the London School Games.
