Congratulations to the Year 9/10 boy’s handball team who finished joint 5th in the London Youth Games handball competition which took place at the Copperbox Arena in the Olympic Park. Having progressed through Haringey and 2 further rounds the boys entered the competition full of confidence and enthusiasm. The opening game of the group was against Eastbrook School from Barking. After conceding 2 early goals the boys reacted really well to score 3 and win the game 3.2.

The second game saw APS have the vast majority of possession but they were unable to score past the impressive Chingford School goalkeeper. Chingford won the game after a quick break saw them score the only game of the game. Hampton High were the opposition for the final group game, a game that APS had to win in order to progress to the semi-finals. However it wasn’t to be as Hampton High ran out worthy winners with a score line of 5.2. It was an excellent experience for all the students involved and they thoroughly enjoyed the day. Well done to: Students: Demir, Charlie, Matteo, Conor, Alex, Jayden, Matt, Louie, Davy, Abdul and Jaden.
