Congratulations to the U13 Girls Cricket team who were crowned Middlesex Champions, at the McKinsey Cup Finals hosted by North London CC. The girls came up against the best cricket schools from all over Middlesex and had to play at their best to walk off with the trophy. Each game consisted of just seven overs and the girls opted to bat first in each match. APS got off to a flying start with Kate and Mabel hitting boundaries almost at will. The rest of the team kept up the run rate, when our starting pair had to retire at 20 runs. Scoring more than 10 runs an over throughout the competition, the opposition were set challenging targets to beat.

Our bowling was equally impressive with wickets falling through a combination of accurate bowling and some excellent fielding. The girls were ruthless in limiting the score of their opponents. Congratulations to Kate and Mabel who were rewarded with ‘player of the match’ prizes at the presentation for their excellent performances. The team will now be representing Middlesex Schools at the U13 Girls ‘Chance to Compete’ Kia Super League Regional Finals.
