Presenter Jess Creighton meets England and Manchester City professional Steph Houghton, who is keen for girls of all ages and abilities to give football a try.
Steph talks about how she got started in the game, her career and what football has done for her in terms of life skills, teamwork, organisation, inter-personal skills and making friends.
Steph is keen to point out that neither lots of natural ability or professional facilities are necessary to enjoy the benefits of the game.
Steph coaches some young players at a Manchester City in the Community session at Heywood near Rochdale, and takes questions about her career from them.
This clip is from the BBC Bitesize series PE for Girls.

During the video Steph Houghton puts a lot of her experiences down to having good role models as a young girl, who is your role model and why? What attributes do you need to be a positive role model?
Draw a picture of your role model and write the reasons why they are your role model.
If you were to be a role model how would you like to be described? What would be your best attributes?
Steph also mentions football is a sport in which you must show strong teamwork and support each other.
Can you brainstorm the key features needed for successful teamwork?
